Howard Gets ‘Wired’ with Tollbar Racing

Race Winning Ginetta Junior G40 driver Tom Howard has made a move across to 2008 team champions and current Championship leaders Tollbar Racing, ahead of Howard’s local race at Snetterton in early August.

Howard who took victory at Rockingham in April, and has been on the podium at Brands Hatch and Oulton Park lies a strong fourth in the series and is excited by the prospect of joining close-friend and championship leader Jake Hill for the balance of the season.

“I’ve had some great results this year and thank TJ Motorsport for looking after me since I started racing cars in 2008 in the older Ginettas, but Mike and the team at Tollbar have done such an amazing job with Jake, who has been the pacesetter so far this year, so we felt that as they had a second car available it would be a great opportunity to join them and drive with my mate Jake – hopefully we can get some 1 – 2 results – starting at Snetterton!”

Team boss Mike Flounders is equally as excited about his new driver “Tom has been a front-runner for quite some time now, so there’s no doubt that as a pairing I think we’ve now got the strongest line-up in the championship. We’re now the only team on the grid with two Winning drivers and with Jake having taken 6 Wins and Tom 1 Win so far, I’m really confident that we can get more Wins during the balance of the season – it’s gonna be great to see two of our ‘Wired Not Tired’ cars on the grid – hopefully locking out the front row!

Wired not Tired have been prominant on Jake Hill’s car at the British Touring Car supporting Ginetta G40 Championship, their distinctive logo having been seen by up to 500,000 per race as a result of ITV4′s live coverage of Touring Cars and the support races as Jake has taken victory at all five live televised races this year, so with now double the coverage it’s hoped that the Wired Energy Oat Bar will become a household name pretty quickly.

“I’m old enough to remember the glory days in Formula One when the two Black and Gold Lotus’ were Winning all the time – maybe we’ve got a modern day version of Mario Andretti and Ronnie Peterson on our hands with our two!” smiled Mike.

The Ginetta G40 Junior Series resumes at Snetterton near Thetford in Norfolk on 7th & 8th August and race two will be televised live on Sunday 8th August on ITV4.
